What to Expect: A Fun, Fair, and Focused Environment to Showcase Your Athlete’s Skills
Tryouts are designed to give every athlete the chance to showcase their unique abilities in a supportive and development-focused environment. Whether your player is new to competitive baseball or preparing for high-level showcases, we tailor the experience to meet them where they are.
Here’s what you and your athlete can expect:
1. Skill Evaluations with Professional Feedback
- Players will be evaluated on key skills:
- Hitting: Mechanics, power, and situational hitting.
- Fielding: Technique, footwork, and decision-making.
- Pitching (if applicable): Velocity, accuracy, and form.
- Speed and Agility: Baseline testing to measure athleticism.
- Each player receives constructive feedback from experienced coaches to help them grow, regardless of their starting point.
2. A Focus on Player Potential
- Our goal isn’t just to assess where your athlete is now—it’s to identify where they can go. We look for hustle, attitude, effort, and teamwork alongside technical skills.

1. Who Can Register for Tryouts?
Any player between the ages of 9 and 16 is welcome to try out for the Regulators Baseball Club. We have teams for various skill levels and age groups, from 9U to 16U, with a focus on both development and competition.
2. What Should My Athlete Bring to Tryouts?
We recommend bringing:
- Baseball gear: glove, bat, helmet, turf shoes and/or molded cleats (Mountain Island Charter School is an all turf facility, and metal cleats are not allowed), and catcher’s gear (if applicable).
- Athletic wear suitable for outdoor activity.
- Water or sports drinks to stay hydrated.
- A great attitude and a readiness to give their best effort!
3. Is There a Cost to Attend Tryouts?
Tryouts are FREE for all participants!
4. What Happens If My Athlete Doesn’t Make a Team?
Our goal is to find a spot for every player who wants to grow and compete. If a player is not placed on a team, we’ll provide feedback on areas to improve and invite them to future opportunities with RBC, including training programs and open events.
5. How Are Teams Organized?
Teams are organized by age group and skill level, ensuring that every athlete has the chance to compete and develop alongside players of similar abilities.
6. How Does RBC Help with College Recruitment?
For our 15U and older players, we offer:
- Field Level and NCSA Premium Profiles to highlight their achievements.
- Film Days with advanced metrics like Rapsodo to showcase their skills.
- Exclusive PBR Scout Days for direct exposure to college recruiters.
- Personalized guidance on navigating the recruitment process.
7. When and Where Are Tryouts Held?
Tryouts will take place at Mountain Island Charter School at 220 Henderson Street, Mount Holly, NC. While there are set tryouts posted above, we will evaluate players on a rolling basis. Just select the option for an alternate date on the tryout form.
Specific time slots for each age group will be provided after registration.

Costs vary by age group and team level to ensure programs are tailored to your athlete’s needs.
- Payment plans are available upon request, and we are committed to making sure that cost is never the deciding factor for a motivated player.

10. What Is the Commitment for RBC Teams?
Players selected for an RBC team commit to one full year of membership.
- This includes practices, games, tournaments, and special events tailored to their development.
- The commitment ensures continuity, growth, and the best possible experience for your athlete.
